A Powerful Woman - Myra Rutledge
How have you been? I suppose you're wondering why I'm so colorful and animated.  Since the title of this blog is, "The Joy of the Lord Is My Strength," how could I not feel His power that brings out the Sunshine, even when I'm amongst the enemy.

That enemy seems to raise his head no matter what. Being God's anointed carries a price, indeed. But Jesus has said that He has overcome the world (John 16:33), so all that attacks me is a whimper of what God has conquered.

I'm no stranger to trials and tribulations. Sometimes I feel as though the same demon follows me on each position I hold. Over the years, with each job promotion or transfer, I've asked for peace and have received peace, for awhile. Then the natives are restless again, and I go through the same problems. Always with a disturbed, prideful boss, most time claiming to be a Christian preacher, deacon or even a Sunday School Teacher, at that. If I told you some of the situations I've had to experience, you wouldn't believe me. I'm shaking my head, because I wouldn't know how to explain it myself.

Thank God for His Word. I tremble to think where I'd be without His Word, for His Word instructs us to Stand Still and let Him fight our battles. 2Chronicles 20:17 tells us. Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the LORD with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them: for the LORD will be with you.

As I continue in life, I'm understanding more what it means to meditate on God's Word. This is the ONLY way to be ready in and out of season. If I didn't know God's Word, I would have no understanding of what it means to stand still and would crumble under the strife of the devil. For God is continuing to prune me. He's preparing me, therefore, I rest in knowing that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to HIS purpose (Romans 8:28). And I do love the Lord!!

On this day, whatever problem seems to hover over you, don't give the devil a stronghold! Recognize it for what it is. An attack straight from hell. Stand Still! Because we wrestle NOT against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places (Ephesians 6:12). Yes people, we're in a spiritual warfare for our soul. Jesus waits for all that will let Him in. The war continues, but through JESUS we have the VICTORY!!

Love 'Ya!

Until next time,
Remember, God is Able!

I Found Jesus (original) by Myrna Summers
Original, live 1976 recording of I Found Jesus by Myrna Summers and the choirs of Refreshing Spring COGIC. Myrna Summers composed this song and IMHO there's no better version of this song than this one.
